HILLSIDE, Ill. - Hinsdale Central outscored Lincoln Park 19-3 in the third quarter to score a 60-45 victory and advance to the second round of the Proviso West Holiday Tournament. (Box Score)  Hinsdale Central (7-2) jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead, but Lincoln park (4-6) closed the quarter on a 14-6 run to take a 16-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

The second quarter remained close as the two squads traded baskets with Hinsdale Central leading 29-28 at the half.  Lincoln Park scored the first bucket of the third quarter, but Hinsdale Central ripped off 12 straight points to take a 41-30 lead with 2:47 left to play in the third. A free throw from Lincoln Park cut the Red Devils' lead down to 10, but a tip-in from Ian Bunting and a a three-pointer from Chase Hamilton put Hinsdale Central on top 48-31 after three quarters.  The Red Devils opened up a 21-point advantage in the fourth quarter before holding on for the 15-point victory.

Hinsdale Central shot 48.8 percent from the floor (21-of-43), including 33.3 percent (3-of-9) from downtown. The Red Devils outrebounded Lincoln Park 32-23. Hinsdale Central also cashed in 21 Lincoln Park turnovers into 32 points.  Matt Rafferty paced the Red Devils in the win with 18 points and nine rebounds. Hamilton added 12 points for the Red Devils while Ryan Scales scored seven.  Lincoln Park shot 39.0 percent (16-of-41) from the floor. Tobi Ewuosho led the charge with 12 points while Samuel Mack finished with 10.  Hinsdale Central will face the winner of the St. Joseph/Nazareth match-up on Friday, December 27, at 1:45 pm. Lincoln Park will take on the loser of the St. Joseph/Nazareth contest in the consolation bracket on Friday, December 27, at 1:15 p.m. in the fieldhouse.
