Hinsdale Central (6-1) held Naperville Central (5-2) to just six points in the second quarter and then opened the second half with eight straight points to open a double-digit lead in the non-conference contest. The Redhawks cut their deficit to 50-42 in the final minute of the third quarter but wouldn’t get any closer.  The Red Devils got a steal and three-point play from Chase Hamilton and a three-point play and a put-back from Matt Rafferty to take a 32-20 lead to open the second half.  The 6-7 junior Rafferty scored 17 points and collected 10 rebounds. Hinsdale Central made 26 of 31 free throws while Naperville Central was just 10-for-16. It took the Redhawks 5:52 to score their first 10 points of the game, but more than 13 minutes to score their next 10. “We talk about trying to get off to a good start in the third quarter because it’s usually a key point in the game.” — Hinsdale Central coach Nick Latorre.
