HILLSIDE, Ill. - Hinsdale Central defeated Von Steuben 57-38 to advance in the consolation bracket of the Proviso West Holiday Tournament. 

Hinsdale Central (6-4) broke open a one-point game at halftime by outscoring Von Steuben (4-3) 16-3 in the third quarter. After building a 14-point cushion to enter the fourth quarter, the Red Devils cruised to the 57-38 victory.

Hinsdale Central shot 38.3 percent (18-of-47) from the field, including 30.8 percent (4-of-13) from downtown. Matt Rafferty led Hinsdale Central with 14 points and nine rebounds while Alec Hutcherson totaled 10 points. Ian Bunting came off the bench to total nine points and eight rebounds.

Von Steuben ended the contest shooting 36.8 percent (14-of-38) from the field, including 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from downtown. Demetrius Faulkner led Von Steuben in scoring, dropping in 19 points while shooting 7-of-16. 

Both teams struggled from the foul line as Von Steuben hit 28.6 percent (4-of-14) and Hinsdale Central hit 48.6 percent (17-of-35). 

Von Steuben will play in the fieldhouse on Saturday while Hinsdale Central plays in the consolation bracket tomorrow.
